Violin pedagogy refers to the art and science of violin teaching, particularly when understood in relation to educational theory, or teaching as an academically studied subject.

Encompassing the study of how teaching is imparted in an educational context or setting, it refers also to teaching methods, how students are taught, and what education or learning is.

Involving both understanding and examination of educational methodologies and resources, pedagogy also involves a looking into comparisons between teaching systems, writings, and even what role culture, society, psychology, and even emotion may have on a student.

As an academic subject, the study of pedagogy will involve a holistic and comprehensive look into educational and individual methods, systems, cultures, and effects.
